As part of the federal program “Demokratie Leben!”, Each One Teach One (EOTO) e.V. and the Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland (ISD) e.V. form a competence network of and for People of African Descent (PAD).
With the two network partners ISD and EOTO of KomPAD, an important part of the heterogeneity of the Black, African, Afrodiasporic communities in Germany is represented, which is an important prerequisite for the acceptance and success of the work. All partners have expertise in different fields ranging from pedagogy to practice-oriented research to advocacy for specific areas. This allows for diverse, cross-disciplinary work and a good prerequisite for developing high-quality products. At the same time, the differences that the partners bring with them are an important element for the assurance of quality within the network.
The Competence Network is an educational and counseling institution focusing on anti-Black racism (ASR), empowerment and discrimination prevention. Using a variety of educational methods, KomPAD aims to raise awareness of, educate about, and counteract anti-Black racism in Germany. As a nationwide institution, the network supports commitment to democracy and diversity building. In addition to that, KomPAD is active in educational work, specialized counseling, anti-discrimination counseling, networking, political campaigns and political advocacy work.
